BLOSSOM INTO SPRING AT ANY AGE!

Spring is coming soon and it’s time for vivid colors and florals. As we think about 2023 and spring/summer trends, always remember regardless of age, the principle still stands: Style expresses who you are, and your fashion pieces help you tell your style story. Let’s take a deeper dive into some of the hottest trends for spring & summer, so you can pen your “age ain’t nothing but a number” style story!
Color me Floral - When I think of spring & summer, one of my first thoughts is the blossoming of beautiful flowers. The vibrancy of tulips and the daintiness of daffodils brings you into a place of comfort. You can feel that comfort and solace this spring/summer in floral prints and patterns that are casual and versatile. Make sure you look at the dimension and flow of the floral pattern to ensure it compliments your body type and structure. You want patterns that elongate and proportion you vs. making you look choppy.
Color Me Bold – Invest in bold, bright colors! Think about colors that will highlight your skin tone and hair color as you choose! According to the 2023 New York Fashion Week Color Palette, some of the key colors for spring & summer are yellow, pink, orange and “Viva Magenta.” “Viva Magenta” is a shade from the red family that signals power, strength, and bravery – and was named color of the year for 2023 by Pantone. As you play with color this spring and summer, research if viva magenta is the color for you, try it with colors like an almond or tan for a more balanced look. If you want to take it there for a bolder impact, try it with a bright pink shade, but compliment with a natural shoe and/or accessories.
Tips to Step into Spring & Summer
- Blossom into colorful floral prints choosing a pattern that best flows with your body structure and gives you nice proportion and balance.
- Choose regal and rich hues that give you a bold glow – make sure colors compliment each other (color blocking) and compliments your skin tone and hair color for that time to shine look!
- If you want to gradually get into the color game, add a pop of color to your basics. Rock basic bottoms with a colorful t-shirt or blouse. Add color in small, but impactful ways until you’re ready to color outside the lines!
